Why Should You Join MPA?
As a pharmacist,
you are important in the health care equation.
But will pharmacists always be important
in that equation? Will the health care evolution reduce pharmacists'
role? Not as long as patients and health care professions find value
in the pharmacy profession ... value that improves quality of life
and wellness.
What gives value to
your profession?
- Is it the PBM that offers a plan
that pays AWP-17 plus $1.50?
- Or is it the Missouri Pharmacy
Association which is working to enhance the pharmacy profession,
improve patient care and promote public health by showcasing the
value of pharmacist care.
- Is it the health insurance company
that wants to send prescriptions to a mail-order pharmacy
to be filled?
- Or is it the Missouri Pharmacy
Association that year after year represents pharmacy's interests - your
professional interests - in the halls of the state capitol, explaining
to legislators why it is important for patients to have a personal
and professional relationship with their pharmacist?
When MPA talks, do
legislators and state health leaders listen?
Yes, because MPA represents
many pharmacists.
It is you and the number of other
pharmacists MPA represents that gives MPA its political power. Pharmacists
become a political force when they come together in numbers through MPA. Putting it simply – numbers count.
The more Missouri pharmacists MPA represents, the more likely it is that health care decision-makers
will listen to and consider pharmacy's viewpoint. And these decision-makers
listen – especially when pharmacists, like you, talk to them about the
issues. MPA will keep you informed about professional situations
so that you may share pharmacy's perspective with decision-makers and
other health care professionals.
That's
why it is essential to MPA and to the pharmacy profession that
YOU become
a member. We need to be able to count on you!
