The Missouri Pharmacy Association (MPA) promotes and protects the role of pharmacists as the medication expert in patient care relationships, and as an integral part of the health care team.

HISTORY
On September 10, 1879, four Missouri pharmacists met in Columbia to form a professional organization dedicated to protecting and advancing the profession. Just weeks later, 62 pharmacists became charter members of the Missouri Pharmaceutical Association (MPA), successfully repealing a restrictive law and, in 1881, helping establish Missouri’s first Board of Pharmacy and practice standards. Since then, MPA has championed legislation that strengthens pharmacy and opposed policies that threaten it—earning the trust of lawmakers who rely on MPA’s expertise.

​TODAY’S MISSOURI PHARMACY ASSOCIATION
MPA continues to unite pharmacy professionals across the state to protect the profession and elevate patient care. Through advocacy, legislative engagement, education partnerships, media representation, and collaboration with state and national organizations, MPA ensures pharmacist voices are heard in a rapidly changing healthcare landscape. Member involvement remains vital to advancing pharmacy and safeguarding its future.

BYLAWS
