Pharmacy Technician Accreditation News

As the final step of the programmatic accreditation, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) completed on-site surveys on September 5-6, 2013, at the National American University's (NAU) Zona Rosa and Independence campuses, for the pharmacy technician program. The ASHP Commission on Credentialing met in March of 2014, and voted to approve accreditation of the pharmacy technician training program at both locations. The ASHP Board of Directors reviewed and accepted the actions of the Commission on Credentialing on April 9, 2014, that would grant the program accreditation for six years (until 2020).

The initial steps for the accreditation started in June 2012. With the support of pharmacy technician students and graduates, deans, faculty, staff and advisory committee members, NAU was able to make their dream a reality.

NAU's Independence and Zona Rosa campuses are currently the only ASHP accredited pharmacy technician programs in the state of Missouri.
