Medicare 2017 Part D Drug Plan Policies Set

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently finalized and released its policies for Medicare Part D plans for the 2017 calendar year. NCPA staff has analyzed the 250-page document and identified a handful of provisions of note for independent community pharmacists.

This annual CMS document is sometimes referred to as the "call letter." NCPA used this opportunity to again press for action on some of the top concerns of independent community pharmacists (exclusive "preferred pharmacy" networks; PBM clawbacks or "DIR fees"; etc.). NCPA will continue to urge action to address these and other issues.
